REM wrote and performed one of the best songs ever when they released, Everybody Hurts.

It resonated with so many people because pain and hurt are common among all of us. None of us are immune.

The same goes for frustration, set backs and simply trying to find our own way. We’re not all in the same boat because no boat is big enough. Pain and hurt require the world’s largest fleet of ships to convey us all forward in life.

I started Bula Network and the notion of helping others back in 1997 as a part-time endeavor. Burned out from a life spent building businesses for others, I found myself tired of chasing dreams not my own. So I stepped away.

During that time I found myself immersed in a sport of kids. I loved it. It consumed me. It was a diversion from a life spent in sales, marketing and pushing businesses forward. It was personal. It was human connection where I was driven to impact the lives of kids. It was three years of devotion that were exhausting, but I have no regrets. They were years well spent.

Business and the art of selling have consumed my entire adult life. It started when I was just a kid myself. It now spans a 38 year career in business. Slightly more than a year ago I set about to make my tagline come true: helping people in the art of being remarkable. It’s a lofty goal for sure. But I’m devoted to it. What form it might ultimately make is still uncertain. I’m muddling my way through just like most people. Don’t let the smile fool you. I laugh plenty, but life isn’t one big comedy. There’s tragedy in all our lives.

I hope you’ll share some of your time and attention with me. Hit play and I’m almost certain you’ll find I’m not much different than you.

Everybody hurts, sometimes!

Hold on. Hold on. Hold on.

All the best,
