If I weren’t so passionate about this I’d have written a catchier headline.
If I weren’t so cynical I’d believe in The Law of Attraction or The Secret.
If I weren’t so hard-nosed I wouldn’t be fond of saying, “Build a bridge and get over it.”
If I were more tolerant of the lemmings who run amuck on the Internet swallowing all the drivel peddled by unscrupulous Internet marketers, guru bloggers and other purveyors of all wisdom and knowledge I’d likely be less irked by it all.
But let a famous blogger utter a few sentences of common sense and you’ll see hoards of faithful followers chime in with insightful comments such as, “Great post. Best ever! As usual you are 100% correct.”
Let an unknown person provide brilliant insight and valuable commentary and you’ll hear the crickets chirping. If wisdom is uttered in a forest and nobody is around to hear it, is it still wisdom?
Let an Internet celebrity tell you how only 9 months ago he was over $50,000 in credit card debt, living in the backseat of a 1974 Chevy Vega – but his life changed when somebody gave him Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich.” And grow rich he did. You see, he knew nothing about how to live a responsible life, but now he’s completely debt free and well on his way to being worth a million bucks. How? Internet marketing, of course. Buy his $1997 information product and you’ll learn all his secrets.
Read of a real life man who murdered his wife. Something tells me the Law of Attraction failed him. Unless of course, we’re to believe that he was attracted to spending the rest of his life in prison while leaving his 10-year-old daughter without a mother and a father.
Read what this copywriter has to say about the scoundrels and their tactics who market product launch after product launch. And if you’re courageous enough read the comments by Mr. Fortin and others.
Let me tell you who I applaud and cheer. Let me tell you why I’m sick and tired of all this bull. I’d love to hear your stories and comments. Leave me a voice mail at 214-736-4406. Tell me what you think.
If you’re a lemming, that’s okay. Just don’t get mad at me if I don’t follow you off the cliff. I salute your idiocy and hope you drown sooner than later. I also hope you’ll stop driving slowly in the left lane!
