Bruce and Esther Huffman from McMinnville, Oregon Are “The Happy Huffmans”

Have you seen this already? If so, watch it again. It’s so worthwhile.

You haven’t seen this before? Oh, man. Are you in for a terrific surprise.

Since seeing this for the first time around Labor Day I bet I’ve watched this a hundred times. I laugh every single time. It’s been viewed about 9 million times now.

When I first saw it I suspected it may have been staged. I was quite happy when I quickly found out it was innocent and real. The Huffmans got a new laptop and were trying to figure out the webcam. Their granddaughter got the video and posted it. The rest is history. YouTube fame happened quickly and for good reason. It’s the best 3 minutes of video I’ve seen all year. Hands down!

They also have a Facebook fan page. 😀

Time, Your Most Valuable Resource

In 1991 I read Jeffrey Mayer’s book, “If You Haven’t Got the Time to Do It Right, When Will You Find the Time to Do It Over?” It was likely one of hundreds of books I’d read about time management. Since then, I’ve probably read 100 more. You’d think I’d be a time management expert by now, huh?

Time management tools and techniques are a bit like the best camera. “The best camera is the one you have with you.” The best time management techniques are the ones you’ll actually use.

GTD – Getting Things Done – by Robert Allen is clearly the market leader in time management. If not the market leader, it’s got to be the best known brand in the space.

I’m not a time management expert, but I do know how to get things done. I do what works for me. You likely do things differently than me. That’s fine.

But…

Sometimes I don’t do what I know I should. Sometimes I mess up. And I have to go back and do something again because I failed to take the time to do it right the first time ’round.

I’d like to hear what works for you, or what resources you’ve found valuable.
