Facing The Uncertainty of a New Year With Optimism

Lisa texted this quote…

A positive attitude brings much gratitude. Think positive, be positive, speak positive. Do it every day, make it a HABIT.”

Facing The Uncertainty of a New Year With Optimism

This isn’t some touchy, feely kind of a thing. It’s more intentional, purposeful, tactical and strategic. As we enter a brand new year – another year of uncertainty – it’s urgent that we incorporate optimism, hope, love and fun into our leadership. And gratitude. After all, we’re hotting pursuing high performance for ourselves and our teams.

There Is A Purpose For Everyone You Meet, Show #37

Lisa texted me the image below and asked, “What do you think about this quote as a show topic?”

There Is A Purpose For Everyone You Meet

I read it quickly, then I read it more carefully.

There is a purpose for everyone you meet. Some people come into your life to test you, some to teach you, some to use you, and some to bring out the very best in you.

Within minutes I responded to her texted question, “I’m in.”

We both felt like it’d be a great end of the year conversation. Today is show #37 for this iteration of the Grow Great Podcast. We’re happy to be doing this together with each other – and with all of you. Lisa and I are both optimistic about the future. Hopefully, we can serve to influence your leadership optimism, too. This podcast is our aim at helping bring out the very best in you – and in ourselves.

Happy New Year!

Lean Into Being Yourself

Today’s discussion isn’t about telling the world to shove off (or something even less polite). It’s about leaning into becoming the best version of YOU.

Comparing ourselves to others is a fool’s game, but wildly popular. Wishing we were like somebody else or wishing we were somebody different isn’t the ideal path forward. Instead, it’s time to dive more deeply into pursuing insights into our own self-awareness. If we can harness that, and get good with it, then we can begin to make progress to grow and improve.

Pursuit of the ideal outcome – the pursuit of our ideal self – that’s today’s show.

Be well. Do good. Grow great!

Be A Spark Plug

Be A Spark Plug

It begins with you, the leader. The spark to build a high-performing team, and a high-performing culture…hinges on having a leader willing to be a spark plug.

Today, we have an in-depth conversation about what it is to accept responsibility to be that spark plug that every effective team needs (and craves), and how we can invest in ourselves to make sure we provide what our team needs.

Spark plugs provide the needed positive energy to get things going. And to keep them going.

Your team needs everybody to be a spark plug in that every team member must make a positive difference. It’s not about being the center of attention in every room you enter. Or about being the extravert who is constantly rallying the troops. Spark plugs come in a variety of sizes. It’s about being in the right place at the right time – it’s about fitting in where you can make a big contribution!

To Share Or Not To Share, That Is The Question

To Share Or Not To Share, That Is The Question

You’re in a quandary. You’re privy to some information but you’re just not sure if you should share the information.

There are so secrets or formulas. Every person and situation is unique and has to be figured out on its own terms.

Join us today as we discuss some things we’ve learned in our experiences. We hope you benefit from our conversation as you work to figure out how you can manage sensitive conversations and answer for yourself a few questions:

  1. Should I share this?
  2. Will this benefit the organization if I share it? (Will it hurt somebody unnecessarily if I do?)
  3. With whom should I share this?
  4. How should I share this?

Be well. Do good. Grow great!
